Rosindell just really, really likes flags
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport how many items of correspondence on the subject of flags his Department has received from members of the public in the last 12 months.
Between 15 March 2009 and 15 March 2010, the Department received 83 items of correspondence in which the subject of flags was the primary issue.
Rosindell has a bit of a thing for flags.
In 2008 he tried to introduce a bill that “provides a formal definition of the composition of the Union Flag, stipulates that it is the official flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and includes a schedule containing a description of the flag and how it should be flown”.
And in 2003 Ben Bradshaw made this observation:
“The hon. Member for Romford (Mr. Rosindell) is always flying the flag. I think that he made his name during the general election campaign: did he not have a dog with a Union jack coat?“
