PM and David Cameron argue over spending at PMQs

ePolitix.com reports on the exchanges during this week’s session of questions to the prime minister.
Alan Whitehead (Lab, Southampton, Test) called on the prime minister to ensure that budgets for green energy and climate change are maintained and “enhanced” in the coming years. He asked what would be the affects of a 10 per cent cut in such budgets, hinting at Conservative policy on spending cuts.
Gordon Brown responded that the government pledged an additional £1.4bn in the for low carbon economy in the Budget. “We are for investing in the environment,” he stated, and not for “inheritance cuts for the rich”.
Eddie McGrady (SDLP, South Down) warned that the devolution to Northern Ireland of policing and justice has not been completed. He told the House that this was a “prerogative” for the whole of Northern Ireland.
